The Beat on Baba Yega

Many of us have been to Baba Yega on different occasions since the late '90's but it has never been for brunch.  We had heard people mention their brunch but  had yet to experience it ourselves.  The weather today was absolutely magnificent, so I quickly made the calls and off we headed straightway to a new adventure.

Set in a large old house neatly tucked away in the heart of Montrose, Baba Yega offers a lively and quaint setting suitable for just about anyone looking to enjoy a typical Sunday brunch.  They have outdoor seating and indoor patio style areas as well.  If you like to people watch, you'll love coming here as it attracts a wide variety of different folk.

Reservations are not required.  It's a popular brunch place, so if you don't want to wait for seating, then you probably should arrive no later than 11:30.  After that, the waiting begins.

They don't offer a brunch menu but instead have a brunch buffet that is out of this world.  My favorite part is the 'create your own omelets' section.  They also have a wide variety of bite sized deserts, including chocolate dipped strawberries and tres leches cake.

And if members of your party don't want to partake in brunch food, then they can order off of Baba Yega's fabulous lunch menu.

The mimosa's are not bottomless but they are reasonably priced at $2 ea.  The cost of the brunch buffet is set at $17.95.

And finally, the Houston Press voted Baba Yega the Best Brunch in Houston.  So if you just can't decide what you're in the mood for, Baba Yega would be a good choice because it offers so many tasty options sure to satisfy the pickiest palet.
